Spicejet, Akasa aircraft damaged after collision at IGI Airport taxiway; pilots derostered
According to officials, none of the passengers were injured in the incident, which happened around 2:15 pm.
Wings of a Spicejet aircraft collided with a Akasa Air aircraft on the taxiway at Terminal 1 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday, leading to damage to both the planes, officials said.

Spicejet’s Boeing 737-700 aircraft which arrived from Leh was taxiing in towards the parking stand when its wing collided with the Akasa Air’s QP 1406 aircraft which was scheduled to fly to Hyderabad and was taxiing out for departure and , officials also said.
Aviation regulator Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that the air traffic control officer concerned and the pilots of both the aircraft have been derostered, pending an investigation.
An Akasa Air spokesperson said that their aircraft was stationary when the incident happened.
The right winglet of the Spicejet aircraft and the horizontal stabilizer on the left of the other plane were damaged, said a Spicejet spokesperson. The SpiceJet aircraft has been grounded.
The DGCA also said that the Spicejet aircraft was taxiing in the allocated parking bay when it hit the Akasa aircraft positioned on the apron after a push-back for operating flight.
Aviation authorities were alerted and the matter is now under investigation by the DGCA.
